Fabulous Disaster : Trail Blazing Punk Rock Band

Fabulous Disaster was formed in 1998 with the original members having had experience in a number of previous bands, including Inside Out, Piston, Mermaid Tattoo, Frightwig, Mudwimin and Angel Corpus Christi: Lynda Mandolyn (guitar, nee Lynda Mess), Sally Gess (drums, nee Sally Disaster), Laura Litter (lead vox) and Mr. Nancy (bass). That lineup remained the same through the release of their first three full-length albums - Pretty Killers (1999, Evil Eye), Put Out Or Get Out (2001, Pink & Black) and Panty Raid (2003, Pink & Black).

There have been a number of lineup changes in the period since the release of that third and latest full-length, initiated by the retirement of lead singer Laura Litter. Fortunately for lovers of hard-rocking pop punk everywhere, Lynda and Sally have provided a stable core for the band from the beginning.

In 2004 new guitarist Squeaky ( Girlush Figure ) came on board, Lynda took over lead vocals and Fab D released the six song EP I'm A Mess (Rodent Popsicle) as a three-piece. In 2005 Bass Player Lizzie Boredom ( Lady Unluck ) joined the Disaster rounding out the current line up. But the one consistent instrumental ingredient all the way through has been Sally's very powerful yet always graceful and artistic work on the drums. That, along with Lynda's and Sally's excellent songwriting, have been the keys to the band's ability to absorb all the recent lineup changes and come back even stronger.

Fabulous Disaster has never attempted to reinvent the musical wheel. They keep it fast, loud and fun, with irresistible melodies and plenty of juicy hooks. Whether you call it pop punk or just plain rock & roll, this is a no-nonsense band who know who they are and what they're trying to do with their music. The great thing is that while they do hit you hard, they do it with a wink and a kiss. A great sense of humor has been a Fab D trademark from the beginning to the present, as evidenced by Rich Bitches In Volvos Piss Me Off from their first release and Viva La Prozac! from their most recent one.

Fab D is much-beloved in Europe and has toured that continent extensively, in addition to their many tours of the U.S. over the years. With great new songs like Such A Stupid Girl being previewed online, it appears this group will be in it for the long haul. If you're fortunate enough to have them come to a town near you, do not miss an opportunity to see this delightful, kick-ass band.
