Alicia Champion- Indie Artist, Champ Records

Alicia was born in 1981 in the country of Singapore, to a family with strong ties to the music industry. Her mother was a trained classical pianist and her father an active performer. At the age of ten just five years before Alicia would hit the San Francisco circuit in pursuit of her own music career the family relocated to San Francisco.

Through out her childhood Alicia divided her time between theatre and music with notable success until joining the North California Songwriters Associations. Competing regularly Alicia developed her already talented songwriting to another level bringing home various awards over the next few years.

After spending more than two years on the SF circuit Alicia finally produced and self released on Champ Records her debut album, Stories of My Soul, which opened to rave reviews on a local and national level. Now an indie artist and independent record label at the young age of 17, Alicia sought to further her training and traveled to Boston, Ma to do just that.

With high school and the release of her debut album behind her Alicia traveled to the famed Berklee College of Music in Boston, Ma. Planting the seeds that would eventually evolve into her sophomore release, Cold Wars. At Berklee Alicia met and trained under some of the most talented musicians in today's music industry such as Steven Tyler of Aerosmith and Susan Tedeschi.

Than in 2001 Alicia now endorsed by Steven Tyler won the much coveted Vh-1's You Rock with Melissa Etheridge contest, fittingly Etheridge was also a one time Berklee student. Lending more evidence of the talented and budding rock star that Alicia Champion would become.

In 2003, Alicia released her first single, Annamosity, a three track treasure that highlights not only Champion's songwriting but her amazing vocals.

But in 2004 Alicia finally had the opportunity to produce The First Annual San Diego Indie Music Fest with fellow musician Danielle LoPresti and bassist Kelly Bowen. Realizing a dream to educate the masses of the obstacles indie artists face Alicia threw her heart and soul into the fest that became not just a success but a tradition.

With the explosion of the Independent Music Scene on the brink of a revolution one thing is certain, Alicia Champion will not just be standing on the front lines in Southern California, she will be helping leading the way.
