Rising from the guitar underground in the late 1980's Jennifer Batten is arguably one of the best female guitarists to take the stage. Hailed as an innovator of the two hand tapping method that Van Halen made popular, Jennifer also wrote an instructional column for Guitar Player magazine.
In 1987 Batten was hand picked out of more than 100 guitarists for the coveted spot of the featured guitarist in Michael Jackson's band. She also appeared with Jackson on the halftime show of Super Bowl 27 viewed by 1.5 billion people, which drew the largest television audience in history.
In 1992 between Tours with Jackson Batten released her critcially acclaimed debut album, "'Above, Below, and Beyond." The release gave the world its first taste of the vast diveristy Batten was capable of and set the stage for her follow up release,""Jennifer Batten's Tribal Rage"~~Momentum," in 1997.
In 1998 she began touring and working with Jeff Beck appearing on Beck's release "Who Else," and touring the world with the Jeff Beck. Through out her career Jennifer has remained active in numerous projects and still devotes a great deal of time to her guitar clinics through out the world.
She is currently working on her third album and the Cover Zone is excited share with you our recent coversation with Jennifer.
